Dr.
Nixon (Nick) White – Partner
Dr. Nixon (Nick) White graduated from
the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 1983.
He joined the practice as an Associate in 1984 and became
a partner in 1988..
Professionally, Dr. white has served as the Treasurer
and Office Manager of the British Columbia Association
of Optometrists. Additionally, Dr. White has served as
chairman for the Advertising, Public Relations and Contact
Lens committees of the British Columbia Association of
Optometrists. He currently holds an appointment to the
Health Care Practitioners Special Committee for Audit within
the BC Ministry of Health Services. Dr. White has also
been a clinical investigator for various ophthalmic manufacturers
including Alcon, Johnson & Johnson and Ciba Vision.
Clinically, Dr. White has a special interest in laser refractive
surgery and silicone hydrogel content lenses.
Born in New Liskeard, Ontario, Dr. White moved to South
Surrey shortly after completing his studies. He and his
wife,Cindy Anderson, also an optometrist, have two children,
Chloe and Riley.
Spare time activities include golf, tennis, hockey, skiing,
windsurfing and family outings to Green Lake as well as
exploring in and around BC.
Dr. John Black – Partner
Dr. John Black completed
his studies at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry
in 1989.
He joined the practice as an Associate in 1989 and became
a partner in 1995.
Dr. Black worked with the Bristish Columbia Board of Examiners in Optometry and has served on council for the British Columbia Association of Optometrists. He has also been involved with clinical studies for Bausch & Lomb and Johnson & Johnson.
Dr. Black is a native of BC and currently lives in White
Rock with his wife Suzy Pierazzoand their son Derek.
Dr. Black enjoys golf, hockey, tennis and travel in BC
as spare time pursuits, as well as being a classic car
enthusiast.
Dr. Angela Hern – Partner
Dr. Angela Hern graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2001 and practiced in her home province of Saskatchewan before moving to BC. She joined the practice in 2002 and became a partner in 2006.
She is currently a member of the Quality Assurance committee for the Board of Examiners in Optometry.
Currently, Dr. Hern resides in Vancouver with her husband Dee Jay, a software engineer and twins, Alexander and Elizabeth. In her spare time she enjoys curling, running and travelling.
Dr. Shanine Lafreniere – Associate
Dr. Shanine Lafreniere graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2008 and joined the practice that year as an associate. Speacial areas of interest for Dr. Lafreniere include low vision and ocular disease.
Born and raised in Northern Alberta, Dr. Lafreniere moved to BC with her husband Devon, who is a member of the RCMP.
In her spare time she enjoys reading, cooking, running, quading, camping and fishing.
Dr. Sandeep Sidhu – Associate
Dr. Sandeep Sidhu completed his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of British Columbia in 2005. He then went on to finish his studies at the Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon and completed in 2009. In that same year he joined with Pacific eyeDoctors® as an associate. Special areas of interest for Dr. Sidhu include ocular disease and pediatrics.
He was born and raised in Surrey BC, where he currently lives with his wife Shubneek, an elementary school teacher. In his spare time he enjoys fitness, hockey, golf, and travelling.

Dr. William (Bill) Jackson - Retired
Dr. William (Bill) Jackson graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 1972. He started the practice in Delta in 1973.
Professionally, Dr. Jackson has been very active as a member of the British Columbia Board of Examiners. Past professional positions include President and Vice-President of the British Columbia Association of Optometrists.
Dr. Jackson has been a clinical investigator for many major optical manufactures and suppliers, among them Bausch & Lomb, Johnson & Johnson and Wesley-Jessen, where he has also been a member of their Professional Advisory Panels.
A native of British Columbia, Dr. Jackson lives in White Rock with his wife Janet. They have 2 children and 4 grandchildren. In his spare time, Dr. Jackson is an avid boater and enjoys spending time on the water with Janet.
Dr. Jackson retired in 2008.
